Nursery Worker

Following directions andfollowing safety rules and maintaining housing area if applicable.Workers will need full understanding and must comply with food safetyrules and excellent personal hygiene. Workers must be visually ablebodied and able to lift at least 50 lbs. Sanitation Requirements: Forfood and general personal safety purposes, all workers will be requiredand expected to follow common sanitary practices at all times. Employeesare required to cleansetheir hands by washing them thoroughly with soap and water after usingthe bathroom and before entering the fields for Nursery activities.GENERAL CONDITIONS APPLICABLE: Field work begins at assigned time, whichcan vary from either before daylight or shortly after daylight, toafternoon start times. Work environment will be dirty, dusty, and damp,with temperature fluctuations according to the season. Work is performedduring light rain and in high humidity and in temperatures ranging from100+ degrees to below 35 degrees F. Workers must have multi-limbcoordination ability while standing, walking, and climbing for longperiods while pruning and harvesting. Workers will work on their feet inbent position for long periods of time. Workers will supply their ownwork clothes. Workers must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. consistentlythroughout the day. Workers will make repetitive movements, extensivepushing, pulling, and walking. Workers may be required to perform workon the farm that is incidental to farming the crops listed in theapplication. The employer retains the right to discharge an obviouslyunqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physicallyable to but does not demonstrate the willingness to perform the worknecessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product.Must be able to maintain work area and housing area clean and safe forthemselves and other. Workers shall promptly report any problems withrelated work issues, concerns along with housing issues and concern.Worker will be respectful and mindful of individuals, personal property,company equipment, and companies property. Use of alcohol and drugs isprohibited on any sites and housing. Company has the right to terminateany employee. If housing is provided, housing will not be destroyed,unassembled, moved, changed without any authorization of management.Workers may not take unauthorized breaks from work. Workers have a rightto take reasonable breaks to use field sanitation facilities, includingdrinking water, toilet facilities, and hand washing facilities. Workersshould notify their supervisor when taking an unscheduled break. It ismandatory that all workers punch in and out at the start and end of day,including lunch breaks. No smoking in work areas nor housing.
