Then you are in the right place...start the application process todaySummary of Position FunctionsThe Controls Engineer will quickly gain an understanding and working knowledge of Veregy's technology products and building automation systems. The engineer will utilize this understanding to design, implement, and optimize building automation systems that control various commercial systems including HVAC, lighting, access control, etc. The engineer will optimize control sequences to reduce energy consumption and increasing facility wide energy efficiency. The engineer will also be responsible for managing project implementation which may include managing sub-contractors, project scheduling, progress reporting, and budget management.Essential Position FunctionsAssist with and manage building automation implementation projects by leading progress meetings, supervising subcontractors, ordering material, and managing budgets.Assist engineering and project teams with design, programming, and commissioning of building automation systemsWrite and optimize building automation control sequences to reduce energy consumption in increase facility efficiencyAssist project teams with the creation of design and construction documents as they relate to building automation systems and other Veregy technology productsTroubleshoot low voltage circuitry in the field and verify functional requirements are metRespond to and rectify customer issues or occupant comfort complaints in a timely mannerExperience in project management.Strong analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities.Detail-oriented multi-tasker.Excellent written, verbal, and diplomatic communication skills.Strong collaborative skills; ability to collaborate with other engineers to methodically solve complex problems.Outgoing, energetic self-starter.Proficient in Microsoft Office products and experience with at least one CAD software.Experience with Honeywell, Distech, JCI, or other Commercial Building Automation Systems.Experience with Tridium/Niagara preferred.Educational/Certification RequirementBachelor of Science in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, or Software.Required Experience5 + years in building automation system design and implementation.Project management experience.Work environmentThis position requires work to be accomplished in both an office and field/construction environment.Physical demandsThis position requires sitting for periods of time at a computer with the freedom to walk around office when necessary; occasional phone, copy machine, and other office machine use; participate in teleconferences using a headset/earpiece, and lifting to 50 lbs. as needed.Travel requiredMay require some travel.Other dutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
