As a level III engineer, you will be responsible for creating the next generation of software at RxBenefits to support our rapidly growing business. Job Responsibilities Include: u00b7 Design, build, and maintain AI-driven backend services, APIs, pipelines, and application features u00b7 Partner with Product, Data, and Architecture teams to translate business problems into efficient AI solutions u00b7 Participate in the design process to build efficient, scalable and maintainable architecture u00b7 Research, evaluate and recommend alternative solutions u00b7 Build scalable services integrating LLMs, retrieval systems, model inference endpoints, and third-party AI providers. u00b7 Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for reliability, security, compliance, and observability u00b7 Collect and analyze metrics to drive implementation decisions u00b7 Design, improve and document processes u00b7 Review and collaborate with other engineers on their code u00b7 Support your team through encouragement and by example u00b7 Mentor and share knowledge within the team and across the department u00b7 Deliver on personal and team deadlines and goals Required Skills / Experience: u00b7 Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or another related field u00b7 6-8 years of professional experience in application development u00b7 Comfortable working with multiple programming languages at the same time u00b7 Strong proficiency in one more backend languages: Java, Python, Go, or Node.js u2013 Python is strongly preferred u00b7 Hands-on experience implementing AI features such as: Integrating LLM APIs Building embeddings, vector stores, or semantic search Fine-tuning prompt engineering for LLM-based systems Implementing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns u00b7 Experience consuming or integrating machine learning models in production applications u00b7 Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and distributed systems u00b7 Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization u00b7 Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases and performance considerations u00b7 Experience with Agile development methodologies u00b7 Strong communications and presentation skills u00b7 Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and works well in a team environment or as an independent contributor u00b7 Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment u00b7 Ability to think strategically and execute with urgency u00b7 Desire to innovate and discover new technologies u00b7 Driven to continually learn and master new skills Preferred Skills / Experience: u00b7 Experience working in regulated industries (healthcare, finance, insurance) u00b7 Knowledge of governance frameworks around data privacy (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, etc.) u00b7 Experience evaluating model performance, prompt effectiveness, and model drift u00b7 Experience developing AI guardrails, moderation, hallucination-prevention, or safety patterns u00b7 Extensive experience in web development using modern frontend and backend technologies u00b7 Strong proficiency in frontend (React, NextJS) and backend (Python) technologies u00b7 Work with responsive design frameworks u00b7 Deployments to Amazon Web Services u00b7 Proficiency in AWS services: EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, CloudFormation/Terraform, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, etc. u00b7 Caching and in-memory database technologies u00b7 Asynchronous/multi-threaded programming patterns _Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this role is $120,000 - $140,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations.
