This role involves designing and implementing data architectures, conducting complex statistical analyses, and translating findings into actionable insights for operational readiness and health optimization.This position will be in support of Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) 711th Human Performance Wing, Performance Resiliency and Optimization (PRO) Initiative.The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.Data Architecture & Integration: Develop and maintain data pipelines for large, multi-source datasets (wearables, biomarkers, performance metrics).Data Quality & Cleaning: Implement routines for data validation, missingness evaluation, and outlier detection.Statistical Modeling: Perform advanced analyses (regression, multivariate, predictive modeling) to evaluate intervention effects and readiness outcomes.Human Performance Analytics: Create frameworks integrating fitness, cognitive performance, and operational metrics.Operational Modeling: Apply time-series and phase-based analytics across deployment cycles.Reporting & Visualization: Develop dashboards, APA-formatted tables, and scientific reports for leadership and stakeholders.Research Design Consultation: Advise on experimental design, sampling strategies, and statistical pliance: Ensure adherence to DoD, IRB, and federal statistical standards; complete CITI training for human subject research.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesAssigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.Education and ExperienceDoctoral Degree in Biostatistics, Data Science, Sports Physiology, or related field.Minimum of 6-8 years experience in statistical modeling and data integration for large-scale research studies.Proficiency in R, Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Shiny).Experience with longitudinal data analysis, mixed-effects modeling, and predictive analytics.Familiarity with wearable technology data and human performance metrics.Preferred Qualifications & SkillsExperience with DoD or military research protocols.Knowledge of SPAFORGEN and EIP employment models.Strong communication skills for translating technical findings into operational language.Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.Certifications such as NSCA-CSCS or CPSS are a plus.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to lead projects and guide all aspects of cross-disciplinary computational research projects and proposal developmentProven expertise in applicable scientific projectsExcellent communication skillsAbility to work independently and supervise othersPhysical CapabilitiesLifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods.Work EnvironmentThis position will take place primarily in an office pensationThe annual salary range for this position is $100,500-$160,000.
