Job Title: Shipping Manager Job Description The Shipping Manager will be responsible for overseeing the shipping department operations, including loading and unloading trucks, supervising shipping personnel, and ensuring fleet and vehicle maintenance with compliance to DOT and OSHA standards. This role involves material handling, tracking, and maintaining the yard and department. Responsibilities + Load and unload trucks before departure. + Oversee shipping department operations. + Supervise shipping personnel, including hiring, firing, and training. + Ensure fleet and vehicle maintenance, including compliance with DOT and OSHA regulations. + Handle material and track inventory. + Maintain the yard and department. Essential Skills + Experience in forklift operation. + Proficiency in shipping and receiving processes. + Skills in loading and unloading. + Experience with order picking and using an overhead crane. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Valid CDL or ability to obtain. + Experience with ERP and computer inventory tracking systems. + Heavy equipment and forklift operation experience. + Rigging and crane experience. + OSHA, DOT, and FMCA regulation compliance experience. + Experience managing a team of 10-12 employees, including 3 drivers, 6 material handlers/loaders, and a lead. + Ability to maintain a fleet of 3 trucks, 25 trailers, 3-ton flatbed trucks, including DOT inspections and ELDs. While some equipment requires repair and updates, you will have an office near the yard and be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving schedule. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fargo, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
