The physician provides consultation services and follow up of medical subspecialty patients, in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. The incumbent should have strong interpersonal skills to establish professional working relationships with other clinicians and staff throughout the facility and the Community Based Outpatient Clinics. The Staff Hematologist/Oncologist will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: Provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and education of patients with Oncologic conditions in the outpatient and inpatient setting Complete documentation and coding of visits accurately to ensure time care for patients Evaluate, triage, and prioritize Oncology consult requests to ensure timely care for patients Conduct telemedicine visits for patients in outlying clinics Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, Compensation and Pension evaluations and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations Coordinate care at VA or non-VA referral centers for patients requiring services not provided at the facility. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, process improvement teams and workgroups as requested Completes CME as required to maintain competency in Oncology and medical licensure Completes HIPAA, Privacy and Security and other mandatory VA trainings in a timely manner Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
