Details Title Research Fellow in Bioprinting School Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Department/Area Position Description The Lewis Lab seeks a talented and enthusiastic Research Fellow to help in the development and application of novel 3D bioprinting methods for disease modeling and therapeutic tissues. The ideal candidate will report to the Principal Investigator in the Lewis Research Group and work closely with a senior postdoctoral research associate. This is a 1-year position with an opportunity to be extended. Please note that this position is not benefits-eligible. The Research Fellow candidate will have the following responsibilities: u00b7 Assist in the development, preparation, and execution of bioprinting protocols to fabricate disease models and therapeutic tissues. u00b7 Contribute to a multidisciplinary team encompassing tissue engineering, mechanical design, materials science, and biology. u00b7 Conduct cell culture, microscopy, and associated molecular biology tasks and protocols with minimal supervision and in collaboration with Lewis lab members. u00b7 Think creatively to develop and validate experimental protocols. Basic Qualifications B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related discipline is required. Additional Qualifications u00b7 Written and verbal skills for communicating scientific ideas. u00b7 Strong organizational skills. u00b7 The ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment is strongly preferred. u00b7 A strong work ethic and a willingness to work outside of his/her discipline to accomplish project goals. u00b7 Experience with flow cytometry, immunofluorescent imaging, confocal microscopy, ELISAs, and PCR . u00b7 Experience with microfluidics, bioprinting, and/or related microfabrication techniques is a plus. u00b7 Knowledge of cancer biology and/or immunology is a plus. u00b7 Prior experience in either cell culture, biological assays and/or mechanical design (using computer-aided software).
