Primary scheduled hours: 80 hours per pay period 10 hour night shift Job Summary Education Background and Experience Minimum Education: Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Required Licensure / Certifications: State licensure that permits them to perform diagnostic CT exams and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams. Registration and certification in radiography by ARRT and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams. Certification in nuclear medicine technology by ARRT or NMTCB and documented training on the provision of diagnostic CT exams. Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Required Experience: One (1) year of radiologic/imaging experience. Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology. Possesses a high level of knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy. Proficiency with most major MRI/CT equipment manufacturer's hardware and software (GE, Siemens, Toshiba). Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree is preferred, but not required. Prefer specific experience and training in CT/MRI. Professional Requirements Maintains regulatory requirements. Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner. Essential Job Functions Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric and general population. Responsible for safe handling of equipment; performs a pre-procedure check on all equipment; provides preventive maintenance. Instructs and prepares patients for radiation therapy procedures. Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Reviews prescribed dosage of ionizing radiation for accuracy before all treatments Practices medical and surgical asepsis at all times. Observes patient reaction to radiation therapy; reports any patient changes to the radiologist. Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure - makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. Compensation/How We Care For You: Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensation range - dependent on qualifications/experience and receive compensation increment increases annually.
