Duty Schedule: Monday-Friday Summary/Objective of position: The Assessment & Curriculum Director will provide leadership in fostering a culture of evidence throughout Dine College in support of learning and quality improvement. The Director will develop, coordinate, and supervise ongoing program and student learning outcome assessment processes in collaboration with the Deans and program development. The Director develops and supervises on component of program review within the context of the continuous improvement to include maintenance of associated records, database and academic division plans within the Office of the Provost. The Director will work under minimal supervision and performances based on effective operation of the administrative function. Develops and oversees a coordinated process for measurement of student learning outcomes across all academic divisions and student support services consistent with the institutional philosophy of the Dine College; Consults and advises with all academic divisions and student support services regarding program and student learning outcomes assessment methodologies and curriculum processes; Schedules academic workshops, one-on-one meeting with faculty member/members, program coordinators; Attends assessment, general education and curriculum standing committee meetings, faculty division meetings, faculty association meetings, etc. as requested; Plans and offers appropriate professional development related to assessment of student learning outcomes and curriculum support for academic divisions, faculty, and staff; Provides leadership through the use of student assessment for any and all academic divisions and student support services related to quality and student success; Provides leadership in the context of institutional accreditation and disciplinary accreditation, particularly with respect to use of student learning outcomes assessment to evaluate program quality; Collaborates with programs an Academic Program Review and student learning outcomes assessment into a single, coordinated methodology with academic programs; Maintains an electronic methodology for storing pertinent information related to student learning and automatic reporting; Remains well-versed in methodologies for program evaluation through regular benchmarking to other institutions, pays attention to accreditation criteria, and participation in appropriate conferences and societies as needed; Plans the assessment trainings and other meetings pertinent to faculty college community involvement in continuous assessment activities; Manages the assessment and curriculum budget; Ensures appropriate materials are available on the Dine College's website for the general public and performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience Minimum: Minimum of 3 years in academic administration and experience in higher education. Preferred: A Master's Degree from an accredited institution in a field closely related to the program(s) Doctoral Degree Preferred. Knowledge: A record of successful administrative experience that fosters a collaborative, inclusive work environment that values diversity and integrity. Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies for the purpose of building professional relationships. Skills: 1. Strong written and oral communication skills. 2. Skilled in the use of computers and related software (Jenzabar EX, MS office suites). 3. An understanding of national trend in undergraduate and graduate education. Abilities: 1. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements. 2. Ability to read, understand, interpret and implement accreditation criteria ad state agency regulations. 3. Ability to effectively present information to faculty, academic and campus leaders, and local communities. 4. Ability to develop, plan and implement short-range and long-range goals. Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel: Must have a state issued driver's license. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment: to include but not limited to the use of a personal computer, viewing a monitor, enter and retrieve date: use of a printer; malfunction copier (copy, email, scanning); filing documents and information; ability to attend and participate in meetings and trainings; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external customers via multimedia (email, phone, letter, etc.); moderate physical activity; and very limited exposure to physical risk but may require some extended periods of sitting, standing or walking. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Work environment is fast pace with timelines, some in state and out. Other Requirements: Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable, but not mandatory. Complete the defensive driving course.
