VP Investments Officer

Description We are looking for a skilled VP Investments Officer to join our team in Dallas, Texas. In this role, you will oversee trading activities, portfolio management, and asset-liability strategies, ensuring optimal financial performance and adherence to regulatory standards. This position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, advanced analytical capabilities, and strong leadership skills to drive effective decision-making. Responsibilities: u2022 Execute trades in agency markets with a focus on achieving competitive pricing and maintaining liquidity. u2022 Manage and analyze specified pass-through pools, evaluating characteristics such as prepayment risk, convexity, and cash flow dynamics. u2022 Develop and implement hedging strategies involving interest rate futures, swaps, and repo transactions to mitigate risks. u2022 Collaborate with the investments team to assess market trends and develop strategic investment approaches. u2022 Monitor portfolio performance metrics, conduct scenario analyses, and recommend adjustments based on market conditions. u2022 Provide detailed analysis of prepayment behaviors, spread movements, and risk-reward considerations within the market. u2022 Model and manage interest rate and liquidity risks across the balance sheet in collaboration with Treasury and Finance teams. u2022 Design and improve internal models using advanced analytical systems to streamline processes and enhance decision-making. u2022 Stay informed on market trends, macroeconomic factors, and pricing dynamics to inform investment strategies and reports. u2022 Build relationships with broker-dealers to ensure efficient trade execution and access to market insights. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in financial analysis and investment management within the banking sector. u2022 Expertise in financial modeling and data-driven decision-making. u2022 Strong understanding of agency markets, including prepayment risk and convexity analysis. u2022 Proficiency in developing and executing hedging strategies and derivatives management. u2022 Ability to work cross-functionally with teams such as Treasury and Finance to align investment strategies. u2022 Advanced knowledge of tools like PowerBI for creating dashboards and analyzing data. u2022 Excellent communication skills for preparing reports and presenting insights to senior management. u2022 Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and compliance standards in trading activities.
