This role will only consider W2 candidates and not C2C candidates.Job SummaryHS1 is seeking a dynamic Performance Engineering coach to help champion best practices within our Engineering team. This individual will work with cross functional teams to assess and understand the applications, architecture and usage. Based on the information gathered, you will put together an on-going shift-left performance engineering practice to improve application performance efficiency much earlier in the iteration.The Performance Engineer is also expected to collaborate with product architects during the requirements analysis phase of the SDLC and encourage conversations regarding NFRs, SLO, SLI, and SLAs. You should be able to provide recommendations and implementation strategy based on SRE practices for the available technology stack and infrastructure to meet the objectives and are expected to drive the initiatives across product development to improve the performance, monitoring of the products for every release.What you will doLead deliveries via performance labs setup in AWSWork closely with project team, product owner, architects to develop and drive shift left performance strategy and plansCreate a strategy and drive implementation to improve quality for our customers by validating Performance, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability of applicationsRecommend best practices, and performance technical training to the teamDevelop and maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for various applicationsResearch and help build out a scalable Performance Testing Environment that is logically and physically representative of production environmentsPerform detailed analysis on any bottlenecks found during test executionsOther duties as assignedQualificationsMust have6+ years of relevant experience for a Sr level and 8 - 10 years of experience for a StaffBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent working experienceTest Tools: Expert level experience in JMeter and Load RunnerScripting for applications built with: HTML, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Node.js, and Mobile productsAPM Tools: Dynatrace, App DynamicsProfiling Tools: Java profiler, Ant profiler, SQL profilerMonitoring analysis & reporting: Splunk, AWSDatabase: SQL profiling experience using SQL profiler concepts, understanding of DMV queriesExperience working in Shift-Left/Shift-Right approachWorking experience in Agile environment with Jira and ConfluenceExpertise in developing robust workload patterns using production dataExpertise in performance analysis and optimization of distributed, multi-threaded, database driven applicationsAbility to analyze performance issues from browser level using available monitoring tools like Tomcat logs, Fiddler, Splunk, Dynatrace and othersAbility to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiencesEstablish successful results working in a high demand and fast paced environmentThe posted range for this position is $96,048 to $168,084 which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role.
