Principal Product DesignerPosition OverviewThe Principal Product Designer will lead the design of seamless, human-centered eCommerce experiences across web and mobile. This role calls for a design leader who blends strong UX strategy and systems thinking with refined UI craft, and is equally skilled at defining flows and interaction models as they are at creating pixel-perfect, visually compelling interfaces. This is a 1 year, 40 hour per week contract role. Candidates preferred near Bellevue, WA or Denver, CO for possible conversion to full-time opportunity.u00a0Key Responsibilities- Define and drive the UX strategy and design roadmap for key digital commerce experiences.- Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to align design direction with customer and business goals.- Champion a customer-centered approach to design and advocate for design thinking across teams.- Identify opportunities for innovation, simplification, and scalable design systems that improve usability and conversion.- Lead end-to-end design for complex, multi-platform experiences.u00a0- Create high-fidelity prototypes, journey maps, and interaction models that bring ideas to life.- Balance UX strategy with visual excellence and producing intuitive, accessible, and on-brand interfaces.- Partner with researchers, other principal designers, and vendors to maintain consistency across the digital ecosystem.u00a0- Review and refine design work across the team to ensure cohesion and quality.- Mentor and guide designers, providing feedback that strengthens both UX and visual design quality.- Foster collaboration across product, research, and engineering to deliver cohesive, high-performing experiences.u00a0- Evolve design processes, tools, and standards for greater scalability and consistency.u00a0- Influence senior leaders with design recommendations grounded in data, research, and customer insight.Qualifications- 10+ years minimum of experience in user experience, digital strategy or related field.- Deep expertise in both UX and UI design for web and mobile products.- Strong command of design systems, accessibility, and responsive design principles.- Proven success designing end-to-end eCommerce experiences that drive engagement and conversion.- Advanced proficiency in Figma and collaborative design tools.- Skilled in building prototypes, flows, and journey maps to communicate design intent.- Ability to translate research and data into actionable, customer-centered solutions.- Experienced mentor and design leader, elevating craft, quality, and consistency.- Excellent communication, executive presentation, and storytelling skills.- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects with accountability and flexibility.- Hands-on leader willing to roll up sleeves and lead by example.- Comfortable operating in agile, fast-paced environments and navigating ambiguity with confidence.- Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, complex eCommerce design this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data.BenefitsCreative Circle's Freelance Employee benefits package includes eligibility for Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) medical plan, dental/vision/term life package, discount prescription program, critical illness, accident, tele-behavioral health, and 401(k) plan.
