Staff Accountant

Description Connect with Casey Wiggin on LinkedIn ASAP if interested We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will play a significant role in our financial department. You will be entrusted with tasks such as processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action. Responsibilities: u2022 Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on the account status u2022 Work on daily deposits and understand the reconciling of payments u2022 Translate cash entries and accruals to the General Ledger (GL) u2022 Perform invoicing for the state and service contracts, including timesheet reconciliation for grants u2022 Create monthly or quarterly invoices in compliance with budgets for each state program and service contracts u2022 Provide monthly journal entries to staff accountants to record revenue u2022 Monitor payments on monthly invoices and alert the Controller of non-payment u2022 Assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with various projects as needed u2022 Ensure company fiscal policies are being adhered to u2022 Assist with audit preparation. Requirements u2022 Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Staff Accountant u2022 Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP), and able to manage high-volume invoicing with accuracy. u2022 Demonstrated expertise in conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. u2022 Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance. u2022 Proven experience in preparing and posting journal entries. u2022 Ability to manage and complete month-end close processes in a timely manner. u2022 Skilled in invoice coding, ensuring all invoices are correctly categorized and recorded. u2022 Experience in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. u2022 Knowledge and experience in conducting financial statement audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
