AgVantage FS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada.PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENTResponsible for providing leadership for the operations of the fertilizer/chemical facility. Assists the area operations manager with fertilizer/chemical inventory management, blending, and facility asset maintenance.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssist Plant Manager with all daily operations of liquid and dry fertilizer facilitiesProvides customer service and billing information and invoices in a timely and accurate manner to increase inventory accuracy, and maintain the reputation and profitability of the organization.Operates and maintains facility equipment and machinery in a safe, efficient, and economical way.Assist Plant Manager with fertilizer and crop protection; inventory; ordering; and month end proceduresOperates product blending equipment and loading / unloading equipment, including trucksCollaborates with Location Managers and Crop Specialists on planning, organizing, directing and scheduling work assignments and product batching sequences for dry & liquid facilitiesCompletes delivery tickets, transfer tickets, and invoicing for fertilizer and crop protection loadsPerforms equipment and machinery preventative maintenance, trouble-shooting, and maintenance of the dry & liquid facilitiesCoordinate centralized dispatch functions of dry & liquid facilitiesAssist in sales with prospective accounts and upgrades during the non-blending season. Sales will include but not limited to plant food, chemical, seed, custom application, and precision ag.OTHER JOB FUNCTIONSResponsible for maintaining the appearance of the facility according to company standards, maintains a safe environment of the facility, and maintains the appropriate professional imageSupports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts with logisticsServes as a back-up custom applicator tending as needed. Includes chemical application, dry application, and NH3 application.Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they applyPerforms all other duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSNormally requires an Associate’s degree in an applicable field, or the equivalent thereof, and 3 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of fertilizer facility operations, elevator operations, and equipment operationsDemonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill developmentStrong organizational & leadership skillsObtain custom applicator licenseStrong fertilizer & crop protection knowledgeAbility to close sales calls, provide agronomic solutions for walk in accountsPrefer a general understanding of GROWMARK agronomy facility operationsMust obtain/have and maintain a valid CDL driver’s license with applicable endorsements, a satisfactory driving record, and the ability to work extended hours during peak production timesFrequently or continuously exposed or required to work in conditions that may include:Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, etc.)Noisy conditionsMay include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measuresMay be required to work at varying heightsConfined spacesLifting 51-70 lbsDemonstrates the ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.We are an equal opportunity employer, including protected veterans and qualified individuals with disabilities.
