Primary Scheduled Hours: 80 hours per pay period - Day shift Job Summary Assists in providing and implementing one to one, small and large group activities designed to meet the needs and interests of each resident and which include social activities, indoor and outdoor activities, activities away from the facility, religious programs, creative activities, educational activities and exercise activities as well as community involvement. Who are we? Newport Hospital and Health Services is located in Newport, WA on the Washington-Idaho border. We are an independent rural healthcare provider. Newport Hospital and Health Services consists of: 24 bed Rural Community Hospital - Trauma Level IV 15 providers Rural Health Clinic 72 bed, high level care, Advanced Assisted Living Facility 42 apartment; low-moderate care level Assisted Living Facility In 2021 we celebrated our 100th year in operation servicing the local members of Newport, WA and the surrounding communities. Education Background and Experience Minimum Education: High School graduate or equivalent. Required Licensure / Certifications: NA-C license Food handler’s card. Required Experience: CNA experience and or experience in a Long Term Caresetting. Preferred Qualifications: Experience and or training in Memory Care. DDA Training; Dementia and Mental Health SpecialtyTraining Food Handlers Card CPR/First Aide Valid Driver's license. Professional Requirements Maintain regulatory requirements. Report to work on time and as scheduled; complete work within designated timelines. Demonstrates the ability to adhere to the mission, ethics and goals of the District. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with patients, guests and staff in a courteous, respectful and helpful manner. Essential Job Functions Provides direction for recreational, social and spiritual activities for the facility residents. Notifies appropriate licensed staff when patient complains of pain. Maintains programs designed to make life more meaningful, to stimulate and support physical and mental capabilities to the fullest extent and to enable the resident to maintain the highest attainable social, physical and emotional functioning. In the absence of the Activity Director, reevaluates the care plan and the specific activity plan quarterly and documents findings in the interdisciplinary progress notes. Assists with bus outing activities and gets consents from residents or relatives. Assists with activities when needed. Makes room visits, holds conversations with residents, prays with them, reassures them and gives moral support where necessary. Treats residents and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of residents and their families. Keeps current list of all residents.. Maintains a written planned schedule of social and other purposeful independent or group activities. Coordinates the activity schedule with other resident services. Successful candidates typically begin between the beginning and midpoint of the compensationrange - on qualifications/experience and receive compensationincrement increases annually.
