Fund Accounting Controller Job ID 251708 Posted 16-Dec-2025 Service line Advisory Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Accounting/Finance Location(s) Dallas - Texas - United States of America About the Role : We are looking for a Fund Controller for CBRE Investment Accounting & Reporting Solutions (u201cCBRE IA&Ru201d), you will work in an ambitious and growing environment. In this role, you will be assisting the Senior Controller in coordinating the (fund) reporting by keeping track of deadlines and deliverables, communicating with different internal and external stakeholders, and preparing and reviewing fund reporting (templates). What Youu2019ll Do: u2022 Provides formal supervision to employees and monitors the training and development of staff. Conducts performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees. u2022 Monitors, compiles, and analyzes financial data. Performs detailed review of monthly property level reports and may provide a forward-looking view to senior team members. u2022 Assists with reviewing periodic P&L calculations at the fund and investor levels u2022 Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed. u2022 Operates the daily activities of the treasury, cash management, and accounting function of the fund. Approve check and wire requests up to approved dollar amounts. u2022 Reviews and signs-off on fund level bank account reconciliations. Ensures all fund transactions are properly posted to an accounting system. u2022 Prepares and reconciles trial balances for assigned funds. In the US, prepares investment and positions reconciliations and daily reconciliation of cash balances. Performs periodic asset payment, cash, and corporate action reconciliations. Prepare templates for fund reporting. u2022 Prepares, analyses, and reviews periodic NAV calculations. u2022 Updates and monitors daily trading, general ledger activity, and pricing of funds to ensure accuracy of daily NAV calculation, if applicable. u2022 Executes on processes and procedures, and constantly provides feedback on process improvement. u2022 Performs administrative tasks as required. u2022 Participates and assists with automation efforts, in systems testing and implementation-related tasks. u2022 Troubleshoots escalated issues and ensures internal and external customer requests are handled timely, accurately and with a focus on customer service. u2022 Feeds data for client presentations on financials. u2022 Prepare, review, and approve journal entries prepared by the team u2022 May participate in special projects including new fund set-up and fund closures. u2022 Calculations of complex fee and joint venture structures, performance return (GIPS, NCREIF) calculations, etc. u2022 Prepares and supports preparation of fund financial statements, investor capital call/distribution notices. Supports preparation of IRR and performance reporting models. u2022 Act as a primary contact with the organizationu2019s internal and external auditors on accounting matters. u2022 Ensure that systems follow acceptable accounting practices and applicable regulations. u2022 Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across business. u2022 Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. u2022 Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. u2022 Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking. What Youu2019ll Need: u2022 Bachelor's Degree preferred with 7 - 10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. u2022 Prior experience in fund level accounting preferred with real estate accounting or fund accounting software systems. u2022 Requires intermediate knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations including intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles to include accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP). u2022 Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts intermediate financial analysis. u2022 Solid technical financial skills and knowledge of GAAP, FASB, REIS, IFRS, and in-region/in-country standards where applicable u2022 Confident understanding of real estate terms, definitions, and real estate analytical methodology. u2022 Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred. u2022 Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems. u2022 Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department. u2022 In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
