Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Vienna, Virginia. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who excels in full-cycle accounting processes and leadership responsibilities. The role involves overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and mentoring entry-level staff. This role reports to the CFO. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage full-cycle accounting processes, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting. u2022 Supervise and guide staff accountants, reviewing journal entries and providing constructive feedback. u2022 Ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices during audits and reporting. u2022 Perform detailed account and bank reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy. u2022 Approve journal entries and oversee the general ledger to ensure data integrity. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting workflows and processes. u2022 Utilize Elite 3E software efficiently to manage accounting operations and reporting. u2022 Prepare and analyze financial statements to support organizational decision-making. u2022 Address and resolve discrepancies in financial records promptly. u2022 Provide expertise and leadership in maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting documentation. Requirements u2022 A minimum of seven years of experience in accounting. u2022 Degree in Accounting with CPA (or in process.) u2022 Strong proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management. u2022 Expertise in preparing and reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations. u2022 Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting. u2022 Familiarity with Elite 3E software or similar accounting systems. u2022 Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and excellent communication skills. u2022 Proven ability to lead and mentor accounting team members effectively. Ability to work with all levels of the organization. u2022 In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory standards. u2022 Experience within professional services, law firm, or similar.
