Learn more about why we are one of the Best Companies to Work for in Texas.The Forensic Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to sexual assault victims, conducts forensic exams and provides expert testimony when required for legal purposesEducation and Experience:• Basic Life Skills (BLS) from American Heart Association• (BSN) Bachelor Science Nursing + 2 years of nurse practice• Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner’s Certificate preferred Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations* Must have completed Adult Didactic portion of certification.• Valid nursing license issued from Texas State Board of Nursing or compact state Skills and Abilities• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing standards and practices in accordance with nursing scope and standards of practice (ANA, 2010)• Adheres to forensic practices as guided by the International Association of Forensic Nurses• Special interest in scientific and technical activities for understanding and responding to nursing problems and concepts• Excellent communicator, skilled in written and verbal communications • Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to problem solve and exercise independent judgementInteraction with Other Departments and Other RelationshipsThis position will interact with hospital department leaders, employees, patients, and their families.
