The University of Iowa Community Clinics (UICC)/Downtown Clinics is seeking a patient centered Medical Assistant II (MA) 100% (40 hours per week) to support our multiple UICC Primary Care Clinics. Our team specializes in family medicine and in the care of everyone in the family, in every generation, from birth, for life. This position will provide support to UICC Clinic locations two times a week within a 1-hour radius of the Iowa City area and be provided a University of Iowa Fleet Car and receive paid drive time. This position will mainly support our Family Medicine Clinics but will float to other patient specialties/clinic locations including but not limited to: Pediatrics and/or Specialty/Outreach Clinics. Our Medical Assistant team develop relationships and get to know our patients and monitor patientcare history anddeliver personalized, compassionate care every time to each patient. When anyone in the family needs specialty care, our family medicine provider connects you with the UI Health Care specialist you need. That specialist will consult the same medical record your family medicine provider has been keeping for you, so your specialty care is streamlined. This position also includes FREEon-site parking as well! #CTC #Medical Assistant #UICC #bestbenefits #primarycare Summary: Under direct supervision of LIP (licensed independent practitioner), RN (registered nurse), NM/ANM (nurse manager/assistant nurse manager) or other licensed designee, functions as a member of the patient care team. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in the urgent care setting by coordinating all elements of the patient visit. Duties to include: Staff will support our Primary Care Clinic/Family Medicine patients. Under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or registered nurse. Performs technical, patient care and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting. Duties may involve the use of electronic word/data processing equipment and/or conventional office equipment. Pay Grade: 9 Salary: $39,090.40 - $58,059.20 / Hourly: $18.65 - $27.70 (based on years of experience) Minimum Eligibility Requirements Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant or completion of a recognized one year Medical Assistant Program, or Completion of a health care profession program with a curriculum incorporating elements of a Medical Assistant program including but not limited to: pathophysiology, medical terminology, basic pharmacology and medication administration including dose calculation and psychology( include educational transcripts during application process ). Special Qualification/License Current valid driver’s license and the ability to meet the University Driving Policy Standards Desirable Qualifications Previousexperienceambulatory clinic/primary care clinic. Previous phlebotomy experience. Previous experience in point-of-care testing (POC). Computer skills and ability to navigate the EMR - Epic, Word. Staff may be required to receive a passing score on work samples to be considered for this position.
