Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. As a part of the CVIMU at Southwest, you will provide care for a mixed-acuity of patients who are recovering from post-surgical cardiothoracic procedures such as CABG, MVR, and AVR. Along with recovery, nurses on this unit manage non-titratable cardiac drips and care management utilizing telemetry monitoring. Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, cardiac care, or IMU population preferred.• 29 CVIMU beds• Rapid patient turnover, very fast pace• 4-5:1 ratio • Holds cath lab, preop and post op patients. • Willing to grow someone who wants ICU exp. • Orientation 6 weeks to 3 months depending on experienceJob DescriptionMinimum QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelors of Nursing preferredLicenses/Certifications:Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursingCertified in Basic Life SupportAdditional certifications may be required based on discipline and/or nursing unit requirementsExperience / Knowledge / Skills:RN I RN II = 1-3 yearsRN III = 3-10 yearsRN IV = 10+ years
