Payroll Specialist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. In this contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a meticulous approach to detail, and experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now. Responsibilities: u2022 Process payroll accurately for salaried and hourly employees on weekly and bi-weekly cycles. u2022 Verify and input payroll data, including timesheets, overtime hours, and pay adjustments. u2022 Review payroll reports to identify and resolve discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations as well as company policies. u2022 Handle payroll tax filings, deductions, garnishments, and direct deposit setups. u2022 Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, including paychecks and benefit deductions. u2022 Collaborate with HR and finance teams to support reporting and auditing needs. u2022 Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including preparation and distribution of W-2 forms. u2022 Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive payroll information at all times. Requirements u2022 Previous experience processing payroll in a multi-cycle environment. u2022 Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems. u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in high-volume payroll environments. u2022 Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing regulations. u2022 Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. u2022 Knowledge of payroll laws and compliance standards. u2022 Strong communication skills to effectively address employee and team inquiries. u2022 Ability to manage payroll for over 500 employees.
