DescriptionA Brief OverviewOrganizes and conducts Speech-Language Pathology services to facilitate the (re)habilitation of people with physical and/or psychosocial disabilities. The Speech-Language Pathologist directs the patient's participation in selected activities/treatments to promote and/or maintain good health and communication.What You Will DoOrganizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient's rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, anizes and conducts the Speech-Language Pathology plan of care to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities.Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities.Performs evaluation(s), develops an effective treatment plan appropriate to a patient's rehabilitation needs within the care continuum, initiates and participates in the discharge planning process.Educates patient/family/caregiver in applicable health information, treatment and prevention.Performs other department activities such as, but not limited to, documentation, billing, support of department operations, etc.Meets minimum requirements as required by current hospital and department PRN policies.Additional ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as plies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
