Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Responsibilities This Psychiatrist provides psychiatric and Addiction Medicine care to a vulnerable population of Veterans receiving residential-level treatment in the Domiciliary (DOM). Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. Ensures that appropriate referrals to specialty programs, including community resources, are accomplished. Participates in team meetings and treatment planning conferences and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members which enhances coordination of comprehensive patient care. Orders diagnostic tests and consultations; differentiates between normal and abnormal findings and makes appropriate treatment decisions. Coordinates treatment with others involved in the patients care, including family members, guardians, care facilities, and other providers including prescribers, nurses, therapists, social workers, and case managers. May also diagnose and treat medical diseases consistent with general medical education and training. Participates in supervision and teaching in support of the psychiatric residency program, and performance of on-call duties Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
