Duties & Responsibilities: Casework + Interview clients and assess needs and resources of clients. + Provide emergency assistance, counseling, advocacy to clients according to the needs assessed. + Make referrals to area agencies for further services. + Schedule appointments for clientele as needed. + Maintain accurate and confidential daily records of clients including but not limited to forms/files/correspondence/statistical information/ and other records as required. + Recognize spiritual needs of persons which may require referral to the Corps Officers (who are ordained ministers of The Salvation Army). Program Support + Assist with the implementation and coordination of social ministries programs at Corps + Maintain inventory for feeding program and emergency food pantry, including supporting Corps officers in grant and in-kind donation development. + Network with and cultivate collaborative relationships with key personnel at other social service agencies and community-based organizations in the corps area. + Attend community meetings as requested by Corps Officers Pathway of Hope + Identify and interact with families and individuals to assess their requirements, find internal and external social services programs that would assist them, assess their most urgent needs, appraise the situation, and listen to the clientsu2019 concerns. + Develop a detailed plan of action to address identified root causes and needs of eligible clients, set goals and outcomes for said clients, and find necessary resources to meet the goals + Establishing and strengthening solid community collaborations with outside agencies, and serving as a client advocate, enhancing a collaborative relationship to maximize the familyu2019s ability to make informed decisions. + Consult with other external agencies to provide support services and resources. + Keep comprehensive records of clientsu2019 progress throughout the process, including every call, referral, and home visit to track a familyu2019s success. + Input accurate and complete data for all contacts with clients into the social ministries database and required data tracking into Service Point database. Participate in required social service, counseling, and other appropriate TSA trainings. + Stay in touch with clients to ensure the services were beneficial and that their needs are still met after pointing clients in the right direction for services. + Maintain confidentiality, respect privacy, and preserve the clientsu2019 routine and independence as much as possible. + Remain up to date with all Keep SAfe training + Perform other duties as required QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirements: Associates or Bacheloru2019s Degree in the Social Services field required OR; High School Degree with 2+ yearsu2019 experience in the social services field Work Experience: 1-year experience in the Social Services field Other Qualifications: + Familiar with principles of strength-based case management + Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) + Proven written and verbal communication skills + Strong interpersonal and organizational skills + Must be able to lift 25 lbs + Good problem-solving skills + Knowledge of the local community and services provided + Valid driveru2019s license and use of official vehicle may be required.
