Job Description

TheEstimator works closely with management, operations, and the estimating team in the review of project plans, requirements, and specifications. The Estimator shall have extensive knowledge of construction means and methods, costs, and engineering principles. The Estimator must be confident working with estimating teams on projects of varying sizes and generating comprehensive proposals and budgets.Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of services and pricing structure providedby upper management.Coordinate the receipt of bid documents and the submission of bid proposals withthe project/estimating team.Coordinate with project management the preparation of a detailed scope(s) of work.Regularly meet with management to review estimating/project managementprogress and to review the estimating calendar.Identify project labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals,blueprints, written specifications and related documents.Conduct site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the project scope(s).Evaluate subcontractor/vendor bids to bid documents and plans to ensure that the full scope of work was considered.Calculate costs of subcontract scope(s), general conditions, and materials.Develop and maintain relationships with company vendors, clients, and subcontractors.Manage bid pricing from vendors and prepare detailed cost analysis.Coordinate with the estimating team to ensure each project is properly scoped andcoordinated among all trades.Assist operations and purchasing departments with submittals, change orders and proposalPrepare for bid days by attending review meetings, reviewing proposals and coordinating with subcontractors/vendorsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
