Job Description Evergreen, Insight Globalu2019s Manage Service Division partners with a large local utility company and we are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to oversee a team of engineers supporting substation engineering and design work for our client. You will not only lead a priority project, overseeing multi-disciplinary engineering teams and ensuring safe, on-time, and cost-effective delivery of substation and related utility work, but future state you would serve as the Evergreen PG&E/Utility engineering service lead. The ideal candidate brings deep Substation Engineering experience and the organizational rigor to manage multiple projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously. What youu2019ll do u2022u2003Oversee Engineers who are owning project delivery end-to-end for substation (and adjacent utility) engineering efforts: scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and change management. u2022u2003Act as the engineering service lead for the divisionu2014standardize methods, mentor engineers, set technical direction, and drive best practices across projects. u2022u2003Supervise and develop project engineers and designers; provide coaching, performance feedback, and capacity planning across a dynamic portfolio. u2022u2003Lead process improvement and cost control initiatives (estimate accuracy, earned value, productivity metrics, lessons learned, continuous improvement). u2022u2003Coordinate across many internal and external groups u2022u2003Maintain rigorous project controls: baselines, milestones, dashboards, progress reporting, and risk logs; escalate issues proactively. u2022u2003Champion stakeholder communicationu2014from internal leadership to client teamsu2014and contribute to technical presentations and status reviews. u2022u2003Partner with Sales/Account teams to articulate capabilities, share case studies, and help win new work with client stakeholders. u2022u2003Oversee the engineers executing the defined scope of work associated with this requisition; align resourcing and delivery to contractual requirements. If you need assistance and/or a reasonable accommodation due to a disability during the application or recruiting process, please send a request to learn more about how we collect, keep, and process your private information, please review Insight Global's Workforce Privacy Policy: Skills and Requirements u2022u20038u201312 years of total engineering experience in utilities, with strong Substation Engineering/Design exposure. ou2003Experience in transmission line (T-Line), distribution, or power generation also acceptable. ou2003PG&E experience and familiarity with PG&E standards/processes are ideal. u2022u20033u20135 years experience performing hands-on engineering similar to your teamu2019s scope (solid foundational substation design knowledge and nuances). u2022u2003Proven management/leadership experience: team oversight, process improvement, cost controls, performance management. u2022u2003Field construction experience supporting utility projects (constructability, RFIs, commissioning support). u2022u2003BS in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) required. u2022u2003Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, prioritize, and maintain excellent organization/documentation. u2022u2003Based in West Sac u2013 okay with travel to visit team at each hub, West Sac, Oakland and Fresno (~1x/week) u2022u2003PE license (Electrical or Mechanical) in CA or ability to obtain. u2022u2003PMP or equivalent project management certification. u2022u2003Experience leading multi-office delivery models and standardized engineering workflows (templates, QA checklists, design reviews). u2022u2003Familiarity with utility work management systems, permitting processes, and construction/commissioning packages.
