JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Salvation Army of La Crosse Emergency Shelterprovides a safe shelter for families and individuals experiencinghomelessness. Every year, hundreds of men, women, and children areprovided emergency shelter and fed over 80,000 meals. Community supportmakes all this possible. If you want to help make a difference by serving yourcommunity and helping those in need, apply now The Cook will prepareand serve meals for shelter residents and clients of the meal program.Manage the meal program in the absence of the Food Services Manager.About the role: Plan, prepare, and serve meals in conjunction with FoodServices Manager Sanitary work environment Monitor donations and otherfood and non-food inventory Help create and maintain a comfortable andrespectful environment for clients Clean and properly arrange thefreezer, cooler, and pantry on a weekly basis Under the direction of theFood Services Manager, oversee daily food pantry to include, but notlimited to, maintaining current computer records of clients/activity,record and report accurate monthly statistics, assist volunteers withclients and pantry needs Provide seasonal support as requested Beavailable to work nights and weekends Other duties as assigned by theCorps Officers Education: High School diploma or equivalent Computerliterate and knowledgeable of MS Office necessary Certifications: Musthave completed the Restaurant Servsafe Certification program or willcomplete within six (6) months of hire Must have valid driver's licenseand pass MVR requirements for Salvation Army insurance Experience: Oneyear food service experience The Salvation Army is an equal opportunityemployer.
