Assistant Controller

Description We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to play a pivotal role in supporting corporate accounting operations within a dynamic, private equity-backed organization. Responsibilities: u2022 Lead month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial records. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities and maintain the integrity of accounting data. u2022 Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with regulatory requirements. u2022 Coordinate and support financial audits, including compliance with DCAA and DFARS regulations. u2022 Manage financial reporting processes, including SEC reporting and adherence to SEC regulations. u2022 Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with SOX requirements. u2022 Evaluate and manage contracts related to federal government operations. u2022 Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives and process improvements. u2022 Conduct testing and validation of accounting systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their growth and development. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, including public accounting or a blend of public and industry experience. u2022 In-depth knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management. u2022 Familiarity with financial statement audits and compliance with DCAA and DFARS. u2022 Strong expertise in financial reporting, including SEC regulations and SOX compliance. u2022 Experience working with federal government contracts and related requirements. u2022 CPA certification is highly preferred. u2022 Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. u2022 Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and leadership.
