JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Purpose The Senior Construction Planner providesadvanced technical expertise and leadership in coordinatingcustomer-driven construction projects, from pre-design throughenergizing. Serving as a key liaison between customers, developers,internal engineering and operations teams, and joint installationpartners, this role handles complex and high-impact projects, ensuresproject readiness, resolves design-to-construction challenges, and leadsmulti-party scheduling and coordination. The Senior Construction Planneralso mentors Construction Planners, supports process improvementinitiatives, and helps shape consistent, high-quality customer andproject execution experiences.Core Responsibilities Note: This is not anall-inclusive listing Manage and guide complex or sensitive projectsrequiring advanced judgment, technical understanding, and stakeholdercoordination. Serve as the senior point of contact for customers anddevelopers, resolving escalated issues and ensuring alignment on projectexpectations, schedules, and requirements. Lead detailed site readinessassessments including trench paths, grading, obstacles, multi-utilitycoordination needs, and compliance with construction standards.Facilitate multi-party readiness and coordination meetings; ensureaccurate documentation, issue resolution, and integration withEngineering, Operations, Meter Shops, Energy Operations Administration,and joint installation companies (ATT, Charter, TDS, etc.). Provideadvanced cross-functional coordination with internal engineers andexternal partners to address design gaps, construction constraints, andsequencing challenges. Work closely with Project Managers to reviewproject risks, identify schedule impacts, and recommend strategies tomaintain efficiency from inquiry through build completion. Lead customerand developer discussions during pre-design, confirming electric and gasservice requirements, loads, meter needs, and timeline assumptions.Provide expert-level guidance on MGE standards, constructionrequirements, timelines, and information found in the ElectricalContractors Handbook and Gas Service Handbook. Oversee and confirmenergizing schedules in collaboration with applicants, Meter Shops,Operations, and Energy Operations Administration. Mentor and supportConstruction Planners through technical guidance, coaching, and workreview. Identify and recommend process improvements related toscheduling, customer engagement, pre-design activities, and joint-trenchcoordination.
