The 2026 MEDLI program willbe held from June 15 through August 7 and will be preceded by a stafforientation week from June 8-12, 2026. MEDLI is a member of theWisconsin Intensive Summer Language Institutes (WISLI). Languageinstructors will be responsible for participating in the MEDLI stafforientation week activities as well as instructor meetings throughoutthe eight-week program. Instructors will work with the MEDLI ProgramCoordinator and under the supervision of designated Administrative andPedagogical staff of the Language Program Office (LPO), to perform thefollowing duties: - Teach Arabic/Hebrew/Persian/Turkish at theelementary, intermediate, or advanced level in an eight-week intensiveformat. Prospective instructors should be aware that a combinedIntermediate-Advanced course in Arabic, Persian, or Turkish may beoffered, with students placed within a similar proficiency range(typically Intermediate-Mid to Advanced-Mid). Hebrew is offered only atthe elementary level. MEDLI 2026 classes will be taught in an online,synchronous format. - Following ACTFL recommendations, for modern,spoken languages, commit to communicating at least 90% in the targetlanguage in interaction with students for the duration of the program. -Prepare syllabus, determine appropriate course goals and objectives,create lesson plans and teaching materials for assigned language andcourse level and potentially for future use by the institute. - Prepareweekly lesson plans and provide to assigned pedagogy coordinator(s). -Develop, administer, and grade classroom and home assignments and exams;maintain...
