The ResearchSpeech-Language Pathologist (MA/MS, CCC -SLP ) will join an NIH -fundedteam advancing diagnosis and understanding of pediatric motor speechdisorders, including childhood apraxia of speech (CAS ) and dysarthria.The role involves expert diagnosis, advanced speech analysis,development of standardized assessment protocols, and mentorship ofclinicians and research staff. This position offers the opportunity tocontribute clinical expertise to nationally recognized research withdirect impact on children and families. Duties and Responsibilities 1.Expert-level differential diagnosis of CAS and dysarthria in pediatricpopulations. 2. Conduct advanced perceptual speech pathology analyseswith expert-level reliability in identifying 22 defined motor speechfeatures within pediatric populations. 3. Dynamic motor speechassessment of children with neurological speech disorders. 4. Performexpert-level narrow phonetic transcription and scoring of severelydisordered pediatric speech using the International Phonetic Alphabetwith diacritics. 5. Supervision and mentorship of speech-languagepathologists and research assistants, including development of cliniciantraining and diagnostic protocols, recruitment, training, andperformance oversight of staff and students; and serving as a liaisonbetween families, clinicians, and the research team. 6. Scholarlycontribution to research dissemination through preparation of conferencepresentations, abstracts, and peer-reviewed manuscripts. RequiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities - MA/MS CCC -SLP - Minimum of 2000 hoursexperience working with children with CAS - At least 2 years ofexperience working as a research speech pathologist on a study ofchildren with childhood apraxia of speech or dysarthria - Completedspecialized training program in CAS (e.g. OUAT training, Apraxia Kidstraining) - Minimum of 8 years of experience with: Expertise inadministering motor speech and other speech pathology assessmentsExpertise in scoring motor speech and other speech pathologyassessments - Excellent problem-solving skills to e used for hiring,training and managing a large team of speech pathologists and studentworkers - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. -Articulate communication and professional writing skills. - Minimum of 2years' experience as a research speech pathologist providing highfidelity assessment and treatment to children with motor speechdisorders.
