JOB REQUIREMENTS: Instructor of Practice of Finance - Insurance Program(Part-Time) Fall 2026 Posting Number: 201104614 Employment Status: PartTime Job Family: Faculty Position Overview Teach 1 setion of FINA 3003,Introduction to Risk and Insurance, 3 credits, fall 2026 and 1 sectionof FINA 4301, Insurance Operations, 3 credits, spring 2027 Coursedescriptions - FINA 3003 Celebrates the exciting advancements reshapingthe insurance industry through technology and innovation. We willexplore emerging concepts such as risk identification and analysis,diverse types of insurance for both consumers and businesses, insuranceroles and operations, regulations, and specialized topics. In addition,senior leaders from leading insurance companies will inspire us withtheir insights on dynamic subjects like Insurtech, innovation,underwriting, and innovative technology. Students will actively engagewith course material through lively class discussions and projects,applying what they have learned in meaningful and practical ways. FINA4301 Introduces two critical operations functions within insurancecompanies underwriting and claims. The course will cover P&C and L&Acurrent processes, technological advances (both current and potential),impact of macroenvironments (e.g., climate change), and regulatoryconsiderations. Students will build technical skills based on a rubricco-created with industry partners. Focus on obtaining specificdesignations (CFCU , CLU , etc.) may be part of this course. Duties andResponsibilities Prepare a well-organized syllabus and teaching planthat clearly reflects the course objectives as well as expectations,conduct well-prepared class sessions that effectively deliver the coursecontent and engages students, administer meaningful and relevantassignments, and grade students' work with an emphasis on studentdevelopment. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Masters Degreepreferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
