The division includes 30 faculty, ten Advanced PracticeProviders, and five Fellows. The division's faculty lead cutting-edgeresearch programs in antimicrobial drug resistance, antimicrobialstewardship, antimicrobial drug discovery, antimicrobialpharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, infection control and prevention,C.difficile, fungal infections, transplant infectious diseases, HIV,HCV, infectious disease and social justice, global health, microbiome,virology, diabetic foot infections, biofilm infections, and immunology.Collaboration is an integral part of our approach. Focusing on teamscience, the division's faculty collaborate with some of the world'stop scientists here at UW. The outstanding research environment at theUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison, which is home to some of the top basicscience departments in the nation and a vibrant scientific community, isa unique asset of our program. In addition, our researchers have closerelationships with the Institute for Clinical and Translational Research(ICTR), which provides support for all aspects of clinical/translationalresearch including intramural funding opportunities, and the Bureau ofCommunicable Diseases at the Wisconsin Department of Health Services,which supports infection control and disease surveillance for the wholepopulation of the state.
