SummaryJob Description:Baptist Health Medical GroupMedical AssistantNeurologySt. Matthews AreaFirst Shift/Full TimeEligible for SignOn BonusSign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteriaEssential Duties and Responsibilities:- Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patients visit to create an exceptional patient experience.- Proactively check the provider's schedule and review information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit.- Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided.- Upon arrival, captures patient's vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information.- Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.- Able to respond to patient call backs and phone in prescription refill requests.- Able to administer medication and injections, as directed by Physician/Provider- Able to perform phlebotomy on patients, as directed by the Physician/ Provider- Able to perform EKG's, PFT's spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/Provider- Able to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.- Able to perform sterilization on instruments used for minor procedures/surgeries according to the CDC recommended guidelines.- Maintains all certifications/licensures as required by the scope of the role being performed.Requirements for Certified Medical Assistant:- Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.- Basic Life SupportRMA, CMA, MA, Medical Assistant, LPN, Certified Medical AssistantWork ExperienceRelevant Work ExperienceEducationHigh School or Equivalent Not RequiredIf you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply nowBaptist Health is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
