Description Job Title: Buyer Planner Location: Greenville, SC Reports To: Supply Chain Manager Employment Type: Full-time Seniority Level: Mid-Level Industry: Manufacturing Mechanical Power Transmission Components Engineering Services Job Function: Inventory Management Supplier Management Continuous Improvement Job Summary: The Buyer/Planner is responsible for customer service, optimizing inventory and communicating needs to suppliers. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to meet production and customer service goals, while effectively managing stock levels and resolving any issues that arise. Key Responsibilities:u2022 Work closely with Materials Manager, team of other Buyer / Planners, Manufacturing Supervisors, Engineers, and Operators in areas of responsibility.u2022 Stock and non-stock order management in a manufacturing environment.u2022 Exercises a key role in accomplishing plant customer service and inventory objectives (Raw/WIP/Buffers/Bulk) through effective inventory management/materials planning for assigned commodities and operational schedules.u2022 Works closely with suppliers to make sure supplier on-time is achieved. Able to foresee potential roadblocks and provide recommendations, solutions, or notify manager. u2022 Issues forecasts to selected vendors to assure reliable supply chain performance.u2022 Provides assistance to all raw material/WIP warehousing and shipping/receiving functions as required. u2022 Create shop orders and schedule work centers.u2022 Provide shortage reports for areas of responsibility.u2022 Reschedule orders (push in and out).u2022 Review component inventory levels.u2022 Run MRP and create purchase orders as well as invoice resolution.u2022 Expedite orders with manufacturing / vendors.u2022 React and manage quality issues with suppliers.u2022 Work closely with Quality Department to review and disposition non-confirming material.u2022 Report product line performance.u2022 Communicate status of orders to Customer Service Representative when requested.u2022 Evaluate inventory turns on raw, WIP, and finished goods. u2022 Assist with cost roll by maintaining accurate part data (info records).u2022 Able to communicate with Auditors (internal and external).u2022 Safety - fully support plant Health Safety and Environmental Plan. Required Qualifications:u2022 Bacheloru2019s Degree in Engineering (any discipline) or Supply Chain Management OR Bacheloru2019s Degree in other area and minimum of 1 year Supply Chain experience.u2022 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).u2022 Working knowledge and proficiency in SAP systems .u2022 Extensive knowledge of bill of materials and routings, preferably in BUS.u2022 Effective verbal and written skills.u2022 Independent analysis/decision-making capabilities. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 APICS CPIM, or an aggressive plan for achievement of certification.u2022 Lean certification or knowledge a plus.u2022 Intermediate Microsoft Excel. Physical Requirements:u2022 Must be able to work in a factory environment (steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, some areas may require hearing protection, and hard hat).u2022 Must be able to work in a team environment with all branches of the plant.u2022 Must be able to make changes to plan / schedule to meet customer demands / deadlines.u2022 Must be capable of moving about the facility, including stairs.u2022 Must be able to either sit or stand in the performance of job duties, often for prolonged periods of time each day.u2022 Ability to work long hours, including overtime and weekends is an essential function.
