Detailing/Drafting Supervisor

We are proud of our flexibility and eagerness to assist customers and co-workers.Responsible for the performance of the Detailing/Checking teams.Responsible for ensuring the teams receive appropriate training and performance feedback.Maintain, develop, and communicate detailing standards and practices to ensure quality and efficiency.Communicate regularly with employees, customers, Engineering Manager and other departments to ensure drawing schedules and required shop volumes are met.Ensure SJI, SDI, OSHA and NMBS standards are followed.Must be willing and able to conduct regular performance reviews for employees, discussing both positive feedback and opportunities for improvement.Must be organized and able to manage time effectively.Fluent with MS Excel to assist with reporting, scheduling and analyzing group performance and other metrics.Must be willing and able to schedule work effectively for the team to meet customer needs and project schedules.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Familiarity with NMBS programs/software preferredFamiliarity with SJI, SDI, OSHA and NMBS standards preferredExperience in the steel joist industry preferredSignificant scheduling experience preferredSteel Dynamics, Inc., and all affiliated entities are equal opportunity employers.
