Job Summary and Responsibilities As our OB Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, youu2019ll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion. As a nurse in this department, you will have varying roles and responsibilities. Working in Obstetrics - triaging patients or perform screening exams on walk-ins or you may guide patients through a routine induction and delivery. Youu2019re busy monitoring the motheru2019s dilation progress while also keeping close watch on the babyu2019s fetal heart rate. You'll be coaching mom as the baby is delivered and providing updates and support to the patientu2019s partner and loved ones. To thrive in this role, youu2019ll need to appreciate that routine is never routine. We have some wonderful days in this department and get to be with people through huge milestones in their lives. We also have some hard days and are with people as they grieve. You must be sensitive and understanding to different circumstances. Above all else, you must remain calm in an emergency. A patientu2019s status can change quickly and itu2019s never good for the patient or family to see the nurse in a panic. Youu2019re calm. Youu2019re in control. Youu2019re handling the situation. + Assesses antepartal, intraprtal, and postpartal patients for risk factors, normal progress, symptoms of problems, and continuously monitor; detect changes in symptoms, health or pain, and take action as necessary; and quickly and accurately assess patient care needs + Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol + Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs and anticipates personnel, supplies, and equipment required to care for patients based on assessed needs + Works collaboratively with provider to provide exceptional care + Administers medications, IV therapy, and treatments in compliance with policies and procedures + Provides patient and family education If you are committed to social justice, health equity, and prepared to deliver care in new, innovative ways, you belong with us. Job Requirements Required Education and Experience + Associateu2019s Degree in Nursing Required Licensure and Certifications + Licensed by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing (RN) + Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) + Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) + 6 u2013 Month Grace Period + Certification for Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) + 12 u2013 Month Grace Period Where You'll Work CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, have a variety of skills from clinical to project management.
