Job ID: 113415 Location: Dallas TX Schedule: 12 -14 week internship on 9/80 The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms. Supporting the worldu2019s bravest._ Job Summary The Industrial Engineer intern will work closely with the Operational Excellence and Industrial Engineering team. The intern will assist the Operational Excellence and Industrial Engineering team with various assignments, while providing the opportunity to learn and develop new skills while enhancing knowledge within the Industrial Engineering field. Job Responsibilities u2022 Gather, compile, review, validate, and analyze data and information from multiple sources u2022 Use software for functional area, to compile and generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, correspondence and presentations u2022 Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments u2022 Ability to effectively manage time in completing assigned tasks u2022 Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network u2022 Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures u2022 This position typically spend 70% of their time supporting production, performing observations of the operations (Time studies) and 30% analyzing the data u2022 Be able to validate facility layout using AutoCAD u2022 Basic knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma Manufacturing methodologies for waste reduction, 5S, Standard Work, TAKT, Pull System, single piece flow, Value Stream Mapping, cell design and manufacturing flow u2022 Support the creation of current state process flow based on observations, and participate in brainstorming sessions to improve process u2022 Conduct 6S audits u2022 Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the Industrial Engineering tools u2022 Other duties as assigned u2022 Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Qualifications + Currently enrolled in a 4 years degree program or 2 years Masters program in Industrial Engineering + Enrolled at time of application as a Junior or Senior with at least a minimum 3.0 GPA + Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Word) + Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network + Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick study U.S. Citizenship required.
