Job Title: Oral and Maxillofacial PathologistUniversity of Pittsburgh, School of Dental Medicine, Department of Diagnostic SciencesPosition Type: Full-Time FacultyLocation: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Job Summary:The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology. This position also carries the responsibility of serving as the Biopsy Service Lab Director. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in educating predoctoral and postdoctoral students while contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field of oral and maxillofacial pathology. Key Responsibilities:1. Teaching:- Deliver high-quality didactic and clinical instruction to predoctoral dental students, postdoctoral residents, and other learners in the field of oral and maxillofacial pathology.- Develop and implement innovative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience of students.- Mentor and advise students on research projects, clinical case presentations, and academic pursuits.2. Biopsy Service Lab Director:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Biopsy Service Lab, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of biopsy specimens.- Collaborate with laboratory staff to maintain the highest standards of quality control and compliance with regulatory requirements.- Continuously improve laboratory protocols and procedures to enhance diagnostic accuracy.3. Research:- Engage in scholarly activities, including original research, publications, and presentations at national and international conferences.- Pursue external research funding opportunities to support research initiatives in the department.- Collaborate with colleagues and students on research projects related to oral and maxillofacial pathology.4. Service:- Participate in departmental and university committees and provide leadership within the field of oral and maxillofacial pathology.- Serve as a resource for clinicians and colleagues in the interpretation of biopsy results and the diagnosis of oral diseases.- Contribute to community outreach and engagement efforts related to oral health education and prevention.5.
