Key Responsibilities andAccountabilities: Must complete all work in compliances with FRA, MBTA,and Keolis Commuter Services standards. Performs scheduled maintenanceinspections, preventative maintenance inspections and unscheduledmaintenance inspection. Repairs and replaces components. Troubleshootsand performs fault detection on mechanical systems. Performsmodification from drawings, prints or mechanical schematics. Comply withall related safety rules and procedures and reports all hazards asrequired. Must document job tasks or work performed manually orelectronically and submit as required. Attend and participate in allassigned training, specifically safety and security related. Otherduties as assigned during emergencies. Core Skills Required for thisJob: Must have a High School diploma or equivalent. Combination ofposition related training, education and experience. Must demonstratemechanical ability and experience. Must be capable of using all relatedhand and power tools including pneumatic and hydraulic tools. Must havethe ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints andschematics. Must have a strong working knowledge of and familiarity withdiesel engines and their major components. Must prove capabilitiesthrough the successful completion of applicable test(s) andexamination(s). A good level of understanding of the basic equipmentfunctions as they pertain to railroad locomotives is preferred. Must beable to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines andlevels, both internal and external staff. Must have the ability toestablish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors,co-workers, and vendors. Satisfactory prior work history. Must be ableto travel and work at all Commuter Rail locations in Massachusetts andRhode Island in all weather conditions. A valid driver?s license isrequired.
