Responsibilities include:- Assist in the development of roadway alignments, profiles, and typical sections- Prepare construction plans for roadway geometrics, signing and pavement markings, maintenance of traffic (MOT) and erosion and sediment control- Perform drainage and stormwater design tasks in coordination with senior engineers- Utilize design software (e.g., Microstation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD) to produce plan sets and 3D models- Support preparation of construction specifications, quantity calculations and cost estimates- Contribute to technical reports, studies, and design documentation- Assist in preparing materials for client meetings, public meetings, and agency submissions- Coordinate with internal design disciplines (structures, traffic, utilities) to integrate design elements- Participate in occasional site visits for data collection, field verification, or design support- Coordinate with senior engineers on permitting requirements and utility research- Work under the guidance of experienced engineers who will provide mentoring and support toward your professional growthRequirements:- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program- 0-4 years of relevant experience- Relevant internship/job experience related to transportation engineering preferred- Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization- Ability to handle multiple assignments- Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
