It is not necessary to apply both through Work In Texas and CAPPS Career SectionCompliance, Compliance Monitoring DivisionGENERAL DESCRIPTION:Performs compliance analysis work involving examining, evaluating, and monitoring records, programs, policies, documents, and/or contracts to ensure conformity with laws, rules, and regulations. Performs entry-level to routine (journey-level) compliance analysis and outreach work. Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Employees at this level may rely on direction from others to solve problems that are not standard. Employees may also occasionally assist others in performing work of greater complexity.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:and#183; Prepares reports internal reports on migrant worker data needed to facilitate licensing and outreach. The reports will contain information on:o Regions workers are housed, languages spoken, industries employed in, types of housing and living conditions etc.o Provides these reports to the Inspector to incorporate data gathered from other agencies into the reporting.o Produces any other analytics as requested or neededand#183; Surveys workers and consults databases and government reports to collect this information.and#183; Travels to various regions of the state with a high density of migrant agricultural workers to distribute Department prepared outreach materials to both the workers themselves and employers of said workersand#183; Consults with Policy Public Affairs section staff on content and format of outreach materials to inform workers of their rights and remedies and employers of their statutory responsibilities.and#183; Informs agricultural employers of Department licensing requirements/procedures.and#183; Attends agriculture conferences and industry events around Texas to make industry contacts and conduct Department trainings.and#183; Studies Department of Labor (DOL) H2A regulations for comparisons to Department procedures.and#183; Develops reporting instruments to facilitate staff in recording internal metrics, such as those in the reporting mentioned above, average days to issue license.and#183; Assists in processing MLHF applications as needed.and#183; Adheres to Department policies and procedures.and#183; Performs statistical sampling of data.and#183; Bilingual in English and Spanish.and#183; Performs related work as assigned.Qualifications: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:and#183; Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university preferred. One year of appropriate experience may be substituted for one year of college on a year for year basis.and#183; Experience interacting with agricultural employers preferred.and#183; Experience in research, compliance analysis or monitoring, statical analysis, and/or auditing work.and#183; Experience in reviewing government reports.and#183; Experience conducting public outreach.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:and#183; Knowledge of the relevant federal and state rules and regulations; compliance monitoring; and statistical concepts, methods, and models.and#183; Skill in conducting data searches and evaluating large amounts of data, in customer service, in preparing concise and accurate reports, and in the use of a computer and applicable software, particularly Microsoft Office products including Excel.and#183; Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement effective solutions; to maintain effective working relationships; and to communicate effectively.and#183; Must have the ability to learn and be trained.and#183; Must be able to travel, at least 25 to 50 percent of the time, as needed.and#183; Must possess a valid State of Texas driverand#8217;s license.and#183; Bilin ual in English and Spanish is preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:and#183; While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; stand; climb stairs; sit; use hands to use or handle office tools and equipment, including telephone and computer; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus for work with computers and peripheral vision and depth perception for driving.OTHER:Must be willing to work in a non-smoking environment and adhere to all applicable Department policies and procedures. Must be willing to work overtime if necessary which may include nights and weekends.
