While we do not have an immediate job opening, we are currentlyaccepting applications for the Mechanic 2 position to build a talentpipeline for potential future openings. In this position, you will havethe opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art facility with the latesttechnology. The R&D mechanic role has regular opportunities to work indifferent labs and develop new skills in support of current product,future product, manufacturing, and racing. There are 9 labs in theProduct Development Center, each of them leveraging different skill setsand providing new opportunities to learn and grow. Employees in theseroles are in a unique position to support H-D product from earlyprototype development through launch. We are looking for skilled,experienced, active learners with great problem-solving skills. Multipleshift options are available in many labs. Daily duties include but arenot limited to: Vehicle Configuration - From the assembly of earlydevelopment prototypes through complete reframing, fleet maintenance,test configuration support, trouble shooting and repair of mechanicaland electrical systems (prototype to current product). Engine Building -prototype through current product along with specific componentiteration to support verification of design. Trouble shooting andidentify root cause. Support of regulatory testing and compliance. Weldcritical assemblies where strength, distortion and other factors must beconsidered. Interpret complex engineering drawings for design intent andcritical tolerance. Fabricate and layout of components and assemblies ina variety of materials. This includes planning the job and thedesign/building and modification of basic tools, parts and fixtures toaccomplish this work.
