We are seeking candidateswho have a desire to work mainly in the field with occasional officework. Work is locally based, with occasional travel to be expected.Primary responsibilities may include: Being the lead on a one-personsurvey crew and supervise multi-person survey crews on various types ofsurveys, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, andas-built surveys. Operate and maintain survey equipment such as GPS,robotic total stations, data collectors, and levels. Interpret projectplans, specifications, and control requirements to establish accuratesurvey data. Collect and record accurate field notes, sketches, anddigital data for office processing. Ensure crew safety by followingcompany and industry safety standards. Train and mentor crew members infield procedures and equipment use. Communicate with project managers,engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and resolve fieldissues. Manage daily schedules, crew logistics, and field resources.Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and completeness ofsurvey work. Maintain survey vehicles, tools, and equipment in goodworking condition. We are considering Survey Crew Chiefs to join ourGRAEF team who possess the following basic qualifications: Have or arein pursuit of an associates degree or bachelor's degree in surveying,civil engineering, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of fieldsurveying experience with at least 1 year in a crew chief role.Additional experience is a plus. Proficiency with GPS, robotic totalstations, and related survey instruments. Experience in AutoCAD and orMicroStation, Trimble Business Center. Working knowledge of LandSurveying data collection procedures. WisDOT project experience is aplus.
