The Application Development Technical Lead designs, builds, and oversees the ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, etc.), leading development teams, ensuring best practices, managing integrations (APIs), mentoring junior staff, and translating business needs into scalable, secure technical solutions, focusing on architecture, governance, and platform health.The Opportunity:The ServiceNow Technical Lead in collaboration with the ServiceNow Architect is responsible for the technical solution architecture, delivery quality, and long-term health of the ServiceNow platform. You will be the senior technical authority, translating business strategy into scalable, secure, and maintainable ServiceNow solutions. You will guide developers, ensuring adherence to platform best practices, and partnering closely with product owners, architects, and partners.This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep ServiceNow expertise, and strong engineering judgment. You will report to the Application Development Group Manager.The Day-to-Day:Collaborate with the ServiceNow Architect in the design and architecture of ServiceNow solutions across modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB and custom applicationsDefine and enforce platform standards, patterns, and best practices aligned with ServiceNow's Now Platform roadmapBe a technical escalation point for complex platform issues, integrations, and performance challengesEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, upgrade-safe, and compliant with enterprise governance standardsLead hands-on development and configuration, including scripting (JavaScript, Glide APIs), Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, UI Builder, and data modelsReview designs, code, and configurations to ensure quality, maintainability, and understanding of platform strategyWork with product owners and partners to translate requirements into technical solutionsGuide technical planning for releases, upgrades, and major enhancementsProvide technical leadership and mentorship to ServiceNow developers and administratorsEstablish development standards, code review practices, and documentation expectationsSupport onboarding and skill development through coaching, training, and knowledge sharingPromote a culture of engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvementDesign and oversee integrations with enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Azure AD, Okta, Salesforce, monitoring tools) using REST, SOAP, and IntegrationHubEnsure data integrity, performance, and observability across integrated systemsPartner with security, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture teams to align solutionsSupport platform governance, including technical debt management, instance hygiene, and CMDB/CSDM understandingLead technical aspects of ServiceNow upgrades and feature adoptionMonitor platform performance, stability, and usage, driving proactive optimizationYour Qualifications:7+ years of experience in ServiceNow development, administration, or platform engineering3+ years of experience in a senior or lead technical role on the ServiceNow platformDeep hands-on experience with ServiceNow scripting, APIs, data models, and workflowsExperience with ServiceNow architecture, best practices, and upgrade strategiesExperience leading technical design and guiding other engineersExperience translating business requirements into technical solutionsServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CIS (ITSM/ITOM/HRSD/CSM), or CADExperience operating ServiceNow as a product or platform (CoE or platform ownership model)Experience in large global enterprise environmentsBackground in Agile / Scrum delivery modelsStable, scalable platform performance with minimal technical debtConsistent adherence to platform standardsIncreased developer productivity and solution qualityStrong stakeholder trust in the ServiceNow platformBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experienceCompensation:$175,000 - $215,000 base salary per year in the state of WA.
