The program provides education on stormwater management to professionals to keep the lakes and rivers of Minnesota clean. The program trains as many as 3000 attendees each year through online and in-person events. This position will work with our existing administrative specialist and 2 other program staff serving as the content specialist who will conduct classes and manage attendee registration. As a small program this person will have a variety of duties and work responsibilities. This position supports the development and delivery of the Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program by designing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum and initiatives that address diverse learner and community needs. The role contributes to program operations to included planning, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while conducting evaluations to enhance instructional quality. Major Areas of Accountability 45% Conduct and develop workshops for Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program Develop learning materials and workshops based on instructional design principles that foster participant learning. Leads workshop sessions, providing instruction and interactive learning experiences. Keep current with developments in the field, and continue personal development in the field. Participate in planning the direction of the educational programs and their related policies and procedures. Print/Copy class materials for various in-person classes. Coordinate pick-up and drop-off of class materials with instructors. Assist online attendees in accessing their online classes, and trouble-shoot with course attendees who are unable to access their online class. 30% Manage registrations for Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification Program Process online and in-person registrations for Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification training held throughout Minnesota year-round. Registrations are received via fax, mail, and Destiny One Registration System (DORS) and includes using Canvas software for managing online class attendee information. Analyze needs of participants and responds with the necessary educational services and resources. 15% Support advertising efforts; manage website, phone, mailings, and other communications Manage program website, update news, resources, class schedules, brochures, and other pertinent program information to include course updates, revisions and redesigns. Create and update course brochures and flyers using InDesign software. 10% Work with advisory board and innovate program improvements Gather information from various reports to help information, program policies and procedures. Assist with others in development of new program assets. Qualifications Required Qualifications BA/BS in relevant field (Biosystems Engineering, Water Resources, Ecology, Civil Engineering or other) plus at least (5) years of related professional experience or a master's degree plus at least (3) years of experience. Excellent oral and written communications skills Experience in construction or environmental regulation field Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and database software with Microsoft Office and Google applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, Sheets) Must be able to lift 20 pounds Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with attention to detail Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks with minimal supervision Experience with website maintenance Experience in construction stormwater management Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and/or co fidential information Experience using Access databases Experience using Canvas Learning Management System Demonstrated experience using InDesign software About the Department The Department of Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering (bbe.umn.edu) is an internationally renowned academic unit with the core mission of sustainable use of renewable agricultural and natural resources, and protection and enhancement of the environment.
