Job Title: Registered Nurse MS/Tele Float (Night) Location: Rochester, NY Pay Rate: $60-65 per hour Job Summary Rochester General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Float assignment. The RN will provide patient-centred care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients while floating across units as needed to support hospital staffing needs. This is a 13-week contract role through MSP requiring EPIC charting experience, telemetry competency, and night shift availability. Minimum Requirements Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (must be in hand; NY is not a compact state). Minimum of 1 year recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience. BLS certification required. EPIC charting experience required. Ability to work night shifts (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00 07:00). Availability to work every other weekend. Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility (locals not accepted). First-time travelers accepted. Page 1 Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients. Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret dysrhythmias; escalate changes appropriately. Administer medications and manage IV therapy and phlebotomy. Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and document care accurately in EPIC. Assist with oxygen delivery, including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway support. Utilise Rapid Response and Code teams when clinically indicated. Implement infection prevention and isolation precautions. Program & Team Responsibilities Float to multiple MS/Tele units as required (overhire float unit). Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members including physicians, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff. Communicate patient status, care plans, and changes promptly. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Service Area Categories Medical-Surgical Nursing Provide care for adult patients with a wide range of medical and post-surgical conditions. Page 2 Telemetry Care Monitor cardiac rhythms and report abnormalities in a timely manner. Additional Requirements Compliance with facility health, immunisation, and safety requirements. Compliance with HIPAA and applicable federal and state regulations. Completion of required pre-start modules; up to 5 hours are billable. Return all facility property at the end of the assignment.
