Job Summary The Sales Manager secures new volume accounts; grows positive relationships with assigned existing accounts and assures positive recognition within the local community for the hotel. Key Responsibilities u2022 Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan. u2022 Employ revenue management techniques to recommend corporate rate proposals. u2022 Accurately prepare and present Requests for Proposals so that both client and hotel receive a good value. u2022 Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales calls, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc. u2022 Manage and maintain an accurate and up-to-date contact management system. u2022 Negotiate and close contracts that meet the hotelu2019s business plan objectives. u2022 Internally communicate client requirements, thereby insuring all information is accurate between client and hotel staff. u2022 Coordinate and participate in target market trade shows and sales blitzes. u2022 Conduct competitive analysis and maintain competitor files in order to be able to compete successfully. u2022 Maintain good rapport with local civic groups and companies. u2022 Other duties as assigned. Job Skills u2022 Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s). u2022 Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills. u2022 Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel. Discretion & Independent Judgment u2022 Negotiate and close contracts that meet the hotelu2019s business plan objectives. u2022 Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business u2022 Develop, implement and constantly modify sales action plans. u2022 Employ revenue management techniques to recommend corporate rate proposals. Qualifications Education u2013 Associateu2019s Degree in Sales &Marketing, Business, or a related field.
