Emmy Squared Park Slope is hiring Prep Cooks to join our team We are looking for reliable and motivated individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing high-quality ingredients and takes pride in maintaining kitchen organization and cleanliness. Daytime availability is required At Emmy Squared, we offer: + Competitive pay + A fun, team-oriented work environment + Supportive leadership and opportunities for advancement + Health benefits for full-time employees + A menu youu2019ll be proud to help create Key Responsibilities: + Prepare specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality. + Maintain kitchen sanitation in accordance with health department guidelines. + Set up and maintain assigned kitchen workstations. + Properly store food, labeling and dating items as needed. + Follow safe food handling procedures at all times. + Minimize loss and waste through appropriate use of supplies and equipment. + Report necessary equipment repairs and maintenance to management. + Keep work areas neat and clean; clean and maintain equipment used in food preparation. + Perform other back-of-house duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: + Minimum 1 year of experience as a cook in a full-service restaurant. + Passion for foodu2014pizza knowledge is a plus + Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks. + Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure. + Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality. + Must have daytime availability, including weekends and holidays. + Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs. + Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching overhead. + Ability to use culinary tools (knives, commercial equipment, etc.) and identify flavors through tasting/smelling.
