Together, we are making a difference, one life at a time.Your MIssion in ActionThe Lead Teacher Aideis responsible forthe planning, implementation, and administration of curriculum that is developed andfacilitatedto a classroom of students for advancing their physical and cognitive growth and developmentin accordance withTrinity Charter School, TEA Regulations, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The Lead Teacher Aide works closely with the Program Director and Trinity Charter School to ensure the campus has adequate staff to meet the needs of the children and mayassistwith program operations.The Lead Teacher Aide will collaborate closely with teachers to ensure smooth classroom operations, help students with their academic and behavioral needs, andmaintaina safe and organized environment.Plan and implement daily developmental learning models for students to meet individual learning style and pace of learningPlan and implement classroom activities based on individual needs of children and goals set forthComplete and prepare teaching materials and related reports, such as, but not limited to classroom activities, individual child observations, and program records for documenting child’s progress as prescribed in the work planEstablish and follow policies and procedures for indoor and outdoor classroom environments for children to followMaintain classroom management and discipline using developmentallyappropriate techniquesProvide constant supervision of children during indoor and outdoor activities; provide and foster a safe and secure environment for children indoors and outdoorsDocument developmental progress and challenges through testingObserve and address challenging behaviors and redirect them to a more positive behaviorWork closely withProgramDirector to prepare the annual program budget to meet children’s needs and program goals andobjectivesManage and control resources and materials to ensure quality, adequacy of supply (inventory) and cost control within budgetary allowancesCoach and support staff to ensure they have the necessary tools and resources needed tooptimizeperformance, ensure established programgoals,and achieve operational excellenceCommunicate with direct reports in periodic one-on-one meetingsOrganize and deliver regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate present, on-going, and future updates of pertinent information, projects, and initiativesWork closely withmanagementteam to interview, hire, and onboard new employees who are strong cultural fits for UpbringWork in collaboration with leadership and the Peopleand Culture Team to arrange training; when needed, coordinate and/or provide in-service training for staff developmentRegularly review employee performance, including goals and progress, to provide developmental feedback: use applicable agency development tools tofacilitategrowth and development in staffDraft and issue the 90-day and annual evaluations, along with supporting documentation, as per established procedures; work in collaboration with staff to set goals during evaluation periodsMinimum QualificationsAssociate degree in Social Work, Education or related field OR Completion of two years of study at an institution of higher education ORCompletion of 48 semester hours of college coursework in a related fieldOne (1)year experience as a teacher, teacher’s aide or in an educational settingOne (1)year supervisory experience directing, managing, and leading at least two direct reportsBilingual (English and Spanish) with the ability to fluently converse and write in Spanish (based on student population and service area), highly preferredMustbe 21 years of age or older per licensing requirementsPreferredQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Social Work, Education, or related fieldThree (3)years’ experience as a teacher, teacher’s aide, or educational settingFamiliarity with educational technology tools and resources.TravelThis position may be required to travel up to 10%Perks at UpbringCompetitive PTO & paid holidays Health, dental, vision insurance & more 403(b) PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramDiscounted Gym Memberships Physical Demands & Work ConditionsThis position requires sitting and looking and using a computer forlong periodsof timePosition works in a child facility and has constant exposure to childrenPosition requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/cottages which are areas where childrenresideLift, push, pull, move up to25lbs.May berequiredto apply safety intervention with youth that could weigh over 100lbs.The physical requirements for this position with or without reasonable accommodation are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully.
